1. Data Collection & Usage
Notch Gesture does not collect, store, or send any personal information, browsing history, or gesture logs to our servers or any third party. All features — gesture detection, brightness and torch control, app launching, and pocket detection — run locally on your device. The app works without Internet access and does not include analytics or advertising software.
2. Accessibility Access — Why We Need It
Why it's needed:
Notch Gesture places a transparent touch surface over your status bar and an adjustable hitbox you can position around your notch or camera cutout. This requires Accessibility access so the system can show that surface above other apps and detect taps, double taps, long presses, and swipes on it to perform the actions you choose — such as opening the power menu, adjusting volume, locking the screen, taking a screenshot, opening notifications, toggling the torch, changing brightness, or launching an app.
Your privacy:
This access is never used to read what is on your screen, what other apps show, or what you type. Touches are handled only on our own surface. We do not save or transmit anything you do outside that surface.
3. Permissions
- Modify system settings — for brightness: If you use the brightness gesture, the app asks for permission to change screen brightness. You can deny it and still use every other gesture.
- Camera — for torch only: Used only to turn the flashlight on or off. The app never opens a camera preview or captures photos.
- See installed apps — for "Open App": Used only to show the list of apps you can assign to a gesture and to launch the one you pick.
- Proximity detection: Uses the proximity sensor to ignore touches when the phone is in your pocket or held to your ear.
Notch Gesture has no premium, no accounts, and no sign-in. No email or account information is ever requested.
4. Security
The APK is provided for direct download. If the app is later offered through an app store, that store's policies will also apply.
5. How Settings Are Stored
Your choices — which surfaces are enabled, where the hitbox is placed, and which gesture does what — are saved locally on your device. Uninstalling the app removes them.
6. International Users
The app runs entirely on your device. No personal data is sent elsewhere, regardless of where you are located. Governing law will be disclosed with the final publisher (see Terms).
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy if how the app uses permissions changes — for example if a future version adds optional online features. Continued use after an update means you accept the new policy.
